  • Interesting Facts About our Skin

Posted on December 4th, 2010 tracy No comments

A few interesting facts I couldn’t help but post this. Our bodies are amazing!

A closer look at your body’s resilient armor.

The next time you use the expression “I know it like the back of my hand,” consider this – One square inch of your skin is home to:

    • 65 hairs
    • 100 sebaceous glands
    • 78 yards of nerves
    • 650 sweat glands
    • 19 yards of blood vessels
    • 9,500,000 cells
    • 1,300 nerve endings
    • 20,000 sensory cells

just to name… um… a few. Our body’s largest organ makes up about 15% of our total weight and covers 20 square feet. Paper-thin and incredibly complex, your skin protects you from the perils of your environment and allows you to feel pain and pleasure. It’s working to renew itself every second of every day. So how well do you really know the back of your hand — or for that matter, any square inch of your skin?

  • Beauty Gadgets and Skin Care Updates

Posted on August 19th, 2010 tracy No comments

    HI Ladies,

It has been over a month since our last newsletter. We wanted to wait until our website was completed before we posted another letter. Sorry! It’s not finished yet, but it sure looks a lot nicer. We are hoping in the next month to be totally done!!!

We have added quite a few new products. If you click on antiwrinkle beauty tools you’ll find the little tool called the Dermaroller. (We were telling you about in our last newsletter) It’s quite the amazing beauty gadget and cost a fraction of the price of going into the spa for basically the same treatment. There is a lot of information regarding the benefits of using the Dermaroller. Check it out on our website! My mom used it only a few times and could tell a difference in her eye area. Definitely helped to firm and tone!

Right now we are in negotiations with a few skincare companies regarding their beauty products. Hopefully in the next few weeks we’ll have something concrete to show you.

This was just a quick little update. Keep checking the website for new skincare and beauty products.

If you could purify rainwater, put it into lotion form, and bottle it, it would resemble Herbal Infused Cream Therapy. Pure moisturizer! Awesome product! I have tried countless moisturizers over the years for my face and the results are always the same: a tight, dry feeling just hours after applying. The bottom line is, you cant fool your skin. It knows the difference between man-made chemicals and synthetics and all natural herbs and vitamins that absorb, penetrate and nourish your skin. I’ve been using Herbal Infused Cream Therapy for 10 months, (I still have a third of the jar left, for someone who’s pretty tight with money, that means a lot.) This is the first product I’ve used this long and been more than throughly satisfied! No more tight, dry face! Do something nice for your face- something completely natural. Your skin will thank you now and years later!

  • New Exciting Gadget for Antiaging!

Posted on July 9th, 2010 tracy No comments

    HI Ladies,

It’s been a while since I’ve updated you guys with the latest Nature’s Genesis News, so here are a few updates.

Our website is in the process of a complete transformation. Besides the look and feel of the site being completely different, we are adding a few new product lines. Even a new little gadget that improves unsightly acne scarring, texture, fine lines and wrinkles, and even helps with the firming and toning of the skin.

You know how we all have certain areas on our body that we wished we could change. Well, my area has been my forehead. I’ve been working with a vengeance on these stubborn horizontal forehead lines. These stinken little lines have sent me on a frenzy quest to find the perfect product that will get rid of these without having to resort to botox. I’ve had botox in the past for these little buggers, but I’m determined to stay away from that poison. (It has been a least 2-3 years since I’ve had botox) I have been targeting this area with a vigor and this little gadget seems to speeding up the process. When our site is completely done and up and running these devices will be added in as soon as possible. I can’t tell you anymore until our site is done.

Since there has been a lot of trouble with the whole ordering process, the shopping cart is also getting a complete over haul. Yeah! This has been a thorn in everyone’s side. Thank you for your patience in this matter.

I’ll let you know when the website is completed.

    Have a marvelous weekend.

    Enjoy the Beautiful Sunshine,
    Tracy

Tracy sent me a sample of the Rejuva mineral eye shadow with my order, so I decided to try it even though I have had some problems with mineral eye shadow in the past. And, lo and behold, I just love the stuff! I have used up the sample, and just ordered some more, along with another color in the same brand. (Note: Tracy sent me “Sunset Bronze”, a color I would never have ordered on my own, but it is very complimentary to my green eye color. So I just want to add that I would now trust her with any color questions I might have, as well.)
I continue to be really impressed with all of the products that I try, will move on to the bath and body ones next.

  • Nature’s Genesis – New Skin Care Website

Posted on June 30th, 2010 tracy No comments

    Hi Ladies,

Just a quick note to say I haven’t forgotten you. We are updating our website to service you, our customers, better. I’ve received many phone calls stating that our cart was knocking everybody off and that it was about impossible to order. This is NOT good at all for everybody concerned. I’m so sorry for any and all inconveniences.

I think you will love our new updated design and look of our website. We will be adding more content and data on the toxic use of chemicals in skincare and makeup products. There will be differing opinions, coming from different sides of the coin, to help you make a better educated decision.

The cart situation will be fixed so there will be no more problems:)

We will also be adding new products once the website is completed. I love the new stuff and can’t wait to share it with you. It is so much fun searching for new products that work and that are pure to boot.

btw I’m hoping the website will be up in running in 2 weeks:)

Have a great week and stay tuned for more updates

  • Exciting Mineral Makeup Line Stay ON

Posted on May 5th, 2010 tracy No comments

    HI Ladies,

We here at Nature’s Genesis have been testing out a new Mineral Make up line. (We will still be carrying our current line, but it is nice to offer a few more selections.) This line has some amazing reviews, so we thought we should check it out and see if it is all it’s supposed to be.

So far, I have not had to touch up my mineral foundation at all during the day, which is quite unusual. It is staying on until I wash my face at night. As most of you know, that doesn’t happen with to many mineral makeup lines. The other plus is that this is bismuth free. Bismuth is known to cause irritations to your skin and create, red, small bumps, pustules, and can cause a burning sensation or cause your face to look swollen. In a few weeks time, you could have full blown acne. Not fun!

If you wonder where all the “shine” comes from, Bismuth Oxychloride is the culprit. Since summer is coming, which translates humidity in our neck of the woods, you will look like an oil slick if you are using anything with Bismuth Oxycholoride.

Testimonies are in that this has staying power even in hot, humid weather. All of us who live in states with 90% humidity give this a hearty – YEAH!

Another great point is that it has a natural SPF Protection of 26, and in addition to the SPF protection it also has great UVA Protection.

From the responses I received, or should I say lack of responses, the last contest was obviously a dud, Sorry!

Here’s goes another try. Whoever sends me an idea that could generate potential newsletter subscribers, and I use your idea, I will send you a free skincare product. It will be something from Shea Terra, Nature’s Genesis, Rejuva or our new mineral makeup line. (I hope this takes off better then our last contest:)

  • Firm and Tighten Your Skin!

Posted on December 10th, 2009 tracy No comments

Last week we started our series of articles on our Reparative Collection. We are going to continue along this line with a review of our Reparative Anti-Aging Serum. As you already know Alpha Lipoic Acid is one of the more potent ingredients found in our  Reparative Serum.

Listed below you will find the anti-aging benefits of using facial products that are loaded with Alpha Lipoic Acid.

    Alpha Lipoic Acid works by:

    • Protecting skin cells
    • Refining skin’s texture
    • Reduces pore size, imperfections, puffiness, and uneven skin tone

Many of you who are into skincare have heard of Dr. Perricone. He’s the Guru of skincare products that contain Alpha lipoic acid. This is what he had to say regarding Alpha lipoic acid.  Those of you you are dealing with enlarged pores will appreciate this tidbit of information.

“Perricone: Alpha lipoic acid can increase energy levels in the cell. Oil glands that are energy-deficient produce abnormal ratios of oils secreted on the surface of the skin. When the proportion of these oils is off, the pores begin to clog. My theory is that alpha lipoic acid increases energy production in the oil gland, normalizing the oils secreted, which shrinks the pore size. Without abnormal oils clogging and stretching the pores, these tiny openings gradually normalize until they are invisible to the eye.”

It also helps with the prevention of glycation – where sugar and the protein of the collagen are cross-linked, leading to stiffness, wrinkles, lines and aging of the skin.

Nature’s Genesis Reparative Anti-Aging Serum provides firming and rejuvenation to the skin, while  MSM reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen resulting in an increase of suppleness and elasticity. Combined with the rejuvenating and firming benefits of Alpha Lipoic Acid and Co-Enzyme Q10, reduces dark spots, and helps to improve color tone. Moisture levels are raised and fine lines and wrinkles are reduced resulting in a smoother, firmer more radiant skin.

We are going to be adding more video testimonies to our website in the near future, so keep your eyes open.

    Have a great week,

  • All Natural Exfoliant – Reveals Beautiful Skin!

Posted on November 24th, 2009 tracy No comments

Who doesn’t desire younger looking skin? Exfoliating is a major key in our endeavor for beautiful skin. Why do we need to exfoliate our skin?  We are removing our makeup thoroughly and we are using cleansers everyday to remove the dirt from our faces, aren’t those good enough? Sadly the answer is NO!

Due to metabolism, we have around 4% of dead skin built up on our skin everyday. The skin cell regeneration cycle is from 21 days to 28 days. As we age, our skin tends to slow down the exfoliation process this is why we need to manually remove the build up of dead skin off our face. If we have too much dead skin left stuck on the surface of our skin, it will slow down the regeneration cycle and our skin will be dull and without that healthy radiance.  What’s worse is, if we ignore the dead skin, it will eventually clog our pores leading to the formation of whiteheads, blackheads and pimples.  Ultimately, exfoliation will reduce dullness and the appearance of wrinkles by breaking up and removing dead skin cell revealing new softer, clearer and glowing skin. It also helps in boosting the blood circulation. As you can see, exfoliation is a vital component for beautiful skin.

Even though exfoliation does our skin good, if it is used to often it can damage our skin.  It is suggested to exfoliate once or twice a week, maybe more, or maybe less. Again, this is where we need to know our skin. I’m finding out I only need to use it once a week at this point.  After exfoliating, your skin will be brightened up and smoothened out, but you will also feel that the skin is lighter and cleaner.

Follow with our Facial Oil, Serums or one of our great nourishing moisturizers. You will definitely notice a better absorption of our other all natural skin care products. Wouldn’t you want those products to get “fed” into the skin and work the wonders for you instead of just “sitting” on top of your skin together with the dead skin? Exfoliation is a must!

Our exfoliator at Nature’s Genesis is a non-abrasive anti-aging scrub which will leave your skin notably softer, smoother and brighter. Jojoba Bead Wax will gently remove the build up of dead skin cells. Results are beautiful younger looking skin. Ideal for all skin types

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving,

  • Are Your Facial Products Safe? You Might Want To Check!

Posted on October 21st, 2009 tracy No comments

Parabens are found in most moisturizers and facial products,  shampoos and even in toothpaste. Look on the back of your bottles and you will be shocked at the ingredients they use.  Parabens are known to be a skin irritant to even those with “normal” skin. Commom parabens that you may find listed on some of your facial products are: methylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben and butylparaben. There are others parabens that are used, also, just look for ingredients that end in “paraben.” You will be amazed!

Although using just one product with parabens may not harm you, think about everything else you put on your body!  As you can imagine, the use of parabens chalk up quite quickly.  Whether you want to avoid parabens for health reasons or simply because the harsh chemicals irritate your skin, there are more and more products available out there for you to choose from. Right here at Nature’s Genesis you have options since we don’t allow a product to be featured if it contains parabens.

There are other alternatives that cosmetic companies could use for the perservative in their skin care products and cosmetics, but their opting for the cheaper route. Sadly enough, parabens are quite cheap to use.  Thankfully, there are more and more  consumers out there who are demanding safer, healthier alternatives, and more companies are responding to that call. You will find “paraben free” on more labels then ever before. As time goes on, there will be even more of a demand for safe, healthy,  all natural skin care products.

Next week we’ll continue along in this same vein. You won’t want to miss this.

    Have a wonderful week,

    Tracy

  • All Natural Skin Toner – A Must for Your Skin

Posted on August 30th, 2009 tracy No comments

Using an all natural toner, Herbal Infused Facial Tonique, is a must for the appearance and health of your skin. It is much more then a skin conditioner. It is a vital component for your skin care regime. There are actually four basic reasons why we use toner on our skin.

Toners deeply clean our pores and remove all the impurities on our skin.

In addition, they rebalance our skin to the proper ph which is of utmost importance.

Furthermore, facial toners bring hydration and moisture content to our skin.

Last but not least, is the assistance it gives for penetration of other treatments and moisturizers.

I will write more about  the great benefits of using our Facial Tonique next week.

    Until Next Time,

    Tracy
